Welcome to the Harrogate Male Voice Choir

HMVC, established in 1969, are a thriving choir of around 40, rehearsing every Tuesday evening at Woodlands Methodist Church Hall in Harrogate. Led by a musical team comprising MD Richard Kay and accompanists David Mawson and David Ward-Campbell, we enjoy performing in churches, theatres, Cathedrals, village halls and anywhere else people ask us to sing! Raising funds for good causes is a priority for us, as well as performing to the best of our ability and encouraging others to sing. Our annual ‘Sing Out’ concert sees us performing with choirs from two local primary schools and we particularly enjoy performing at the school assemblies: by way of introducing ourselves and encouraging young people to enjoy singing for pleasure.

We are also keen to build strong bonds with other choirs. As well as performing in joint concerts with visiting choirs and competing in competitions, we take part in the annual Harrogate Community Choir Festival at the fabulous Royal Hall and have built up strong friendships with other choirs in the area. We strongly believe that singing is for everyone. If you have a lower voice range and fancy giving us a try, you’ll receive a very warm welcome.

Come and try out a HMVC rehearsal.
